I dodged a bullet this weekend on our last camping trip of the year.   I saw the trailer bouncing oddly when going over bumps and was worried but made it home. After inspection when I got home, I should have been a while lot more worried.  One more big bump and the whole tongue assembly would have separated from the camper frame.  It would likely resulted in a catastrophic end to our camper which I have restored from the floorboards.

Our camper is a 76 Royal.  The frame has broken/split/cracked right at the first cross trailer support behind the tongue assembly.  I've searched the forum for anyone posts of similar issues but came up empty.
-Has anyone had a similar failure?
-If so how did you resolve?
-Has anyone removed their camper body and had a replacement frame made?

Right now, I'm considering removing the camper body and having a new frame built that is stronger, a little taller for larger diameter wheels, and an extended tongue for gear/firewood/bikes, etc...

I think I've seen a few examples on the forum of folks that have put an Apache on flatbed trailers.  I will be taking that into consideration as well.

Any posts out there?
Advice?

Hello all-

Yes I am the steward of a rare complete and intact Apache cub II yes the boat is still with it, and the canvas is in perfect condition.

Is this something that should be in an apache muesuem if there is one? My wife and I are finding our selves not using it and i Hate to see it sit around, we rebuilt the trailer in 2017 so it has been well maintained and used. If anyone is interested in owning it or knows of some collection to show it off let me know. Thank you and hope all are well.
