I tried to open the pdf file for the 1971 thru 1989 lift system manual and I get an error occurred. I am not allowed to access the gallery. So...what am I doing wrong?

I use Firefox on My PC and I also use an iPad and the manuals all open fine for me. What are you using as your server? Sometimes it takes a little longer for some computers to open the file, it's downloading ten pages. Just some thoughts.

I'm using IE 11. When I am not logged onto the site and go to Gear Boxes, Lift Chains, Lift System and Crank, there is no files to click on. When I log on, the pdf files show up. And when I try to open one is when I get the error message has occurred and I am not allowed to access the gallery. I was just wondering if maybe I'm not doing something correctly.

Well I'm no expert on computers that's for sure, But maybe your PC has a block on opening files like the PDF or gallery files. Maybe delete your cookies, I've heard some say that on here before.
I'm sure someone with a lot of PC smarts will chime in and give you some good advice about what you need to do.  ;)

Willys2tuff, what browser and operating system are you using?  Have you guys downloaded another browser like Chrome or Firefox and tried it?

Just tried it on IE and Firefox. Also getting same error: "You are not allowed access..."
Sounds like a rights issue, not a browser issue. Perhaps restricted directory??

Firefox, Windows 7.

An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry, but you are not allowed to access the gallery

I'm do computer tech support for my job.  This is a server side error.  It's probably has something to do with file permissions or gallery permissions.

  Hector,
I'd be glad to send you the file but not sure what will happen. I sent it to another member and he said it wouldn't work. It's funny because a member sent it to me and it did work just fine. Let me know if it works for you?

Hopefully Terry or Rod can get this problem fixed. It sounds like a lot of folks are having trouble getting the Gallery to work for them, and trying to get the PDF files to open.  ;)

Here is the work around I came up with. Do not click on the PDF icon on the original post above, click on the "Details" link below the icon. The link will take you to the Gallery page where the document is. In the "Item Info" box, copy and paste URL in the "direct link" to a new browser window and should see the document. For Chrome users, highlight the direct link URL, right mouse click and select "Go to http://...etc..

I just tried 79Ramada's instructions for "Chrome users" and it worked just fine. It would be easier if we could just click the icon's but the work around's do work.  I already had them saved but just wanted to check and see.

Would one of you that had problems with this please try it again and report your results? Rod thinks he found the issue and got it fixed.

The 1971 thru 1989 manual (only one I was interested in) worked for me using Internet Explorer 11. Thanks to all who worked on the problem.

Worked for me as well! I had one sent to me by Greg which I have not opened yet but I wanted to make sure that this one on line was working for future members to obtain. I will thank Rod as well! :) Thank you Greg for sending me a copy via e-mail!

Thanks for posting, good reading material.  One of the things that caught my attention is the statement that the left front more commonly will not close all the way down.  To me, that would be a timing issue; in other words one of the other corners is bottomed-out before the left front seats.  Does that make sense or am I missing something?

Happy 4th to everyone.

Randy

Yeah, I've read too. But they never really explained the reason for why some trailers do that. My Mesa never did. Randy keep in mind though that if the road cover is level going up and level going down then your timing is fine. If your timing is off a little it's due to a sprocket being a link or two over where it engages the chain, from where it should be. That will make that corner be a little higher or lower then the other corners. So it could be a timing thing but I'm not sure it is. I would want to see if it's level when raising the road cover. It's a mystery  :D

Good points, I agree.   I really think the reason the chains were broken on my Mesa before I bought it was raising it before it was level.  Not getting anywhere on mine, simply too many other things I am keeping up with to work on it.  But I haven't given up.
