My ramada needs something better.
The rear jacks are gone and the old mount points are bent to ... well bent.

the front are completely rusted and I am not sure if they will work or not

I am curious to see the completed installation  of your Bal Jacks tim

They are going to end up on mine also. What they are, are screw down jacks, one leg, so the camper doesnt need to be jockeyed to level it. MUCH CLEANER SET UP.

The trailer's at my sister's acreage and I took my truck out, but that's sound advice that I will follow from now on.

I'm looking for an 8x8 block for the front leg to rest on.  I've had nothing but trouble with the 4x4 block.

Gerald

Yes, keep your trailer connected to a vehicle for stability.  Otherwise it will definitely move all over the place.  I just use a 3 ton hydraulic jack that I got at a discount place for $6 and it works great to raise it up and with it connected to my tow vehicle it is stable.  I have not ever used the legs to hold it up to change a tire.  I don't really trust them.

Tim I can't wait to see the pictures of the BAL stabilizers.  I will be definately changing out the Atwoods.

I have a new set of stands from the Argosy that I never used which I could use in a pinch, but I don't care for having to pack them.  They're good enough for now and I will be taking them with me.  I have to try adjusting the brackets so that the legs do not jam.

Be glad you didn't do to yours what was done to mine before I got it.

Pending on how the Bal works out for Tim  I may install on mine.

Here is a pic of what is left of my rear stabalizer jack.

Jeff that looks awful.  I did a close inspection of the trailer legs after I bent the three and I can see how the pins are a weak point for staying in place.  I will be inserting nuts, bolts and washers on the remainng three once I've made bracket adjustments.

Of course metal being metal it can only handle so many bends before its too weak to support anything.

Friday night I am installing BAL stabelizers on a 1978 Ramada. These are the kind that are on todays Colemans and are much nicer than those damned old Atwoods! I will take photo's of them. Tom Thompson fron Canada has them on his 72 Ramada and work great and are 100% more stable.

Please let us know how they work.  I have thought about doing something similar but was worried about the clearance.

I already know they work great as Tom Thompson who lives just outside of Toronto, Canada, has them on his Ramada. They fold up flat. These are a single swing down arm, not the double scissor kind.

Where are you attaching them to the trailer?  Looking at pictures of what I think you are talking about I cannot imagine how to bolt them on where they are on the frame.

This is one project I am definitely going to do!

Getting the trailer level has always been a bear for me.

How are you attaching them?

If you put them on at an angle I don't think there is enough frame.

If you use the frame you are at 90 degrees to the trailer.  Would that be stable enough?
