2004 Texas Popup Rally - Anyone else going?
« on: June 16, 2004, 11:56:43 am »
We just got moved off the "waiting" list and I'm sending my check today.   :D

I was wondering if we'll see any other fellow "apachepopups.net" campers there?

Guadalupe State Park - July 22-25

No sorry, maybe next year.

This year we will be camping and meeting my brother and his wife up in Oklahoma from July 16 to July 25.

That will be the first BIG test of my new Air Conditioner that I need to install this weekend.

Hope you have a great weekend Christine and to all the other Pop Up campers.

Alan,

Good Luck with the A/C installation; a definite necessity in OK/TX at this time of year.  How are you planning to mount yours?  We built a stand for ours since it is a '74 Royal with no space for a tongue mount, unless we lost storage under the front goucho.

We're hoping to meet some "Lost Apaches" who aren't members of the forum.  What are the odds with 46 popups in attendance!?

You have a good, safe trip, too!

Unfortunately, This is just Popups in general; not limited to Apaches, but like I said, we're hoping to find some unaccounted for Apaches in attendance.

We just got back from a week camping in CO/WY (Estes Park, Flagg Ranch, Garden of the Gods) and only saw 1 Apache camping and 1 Apache on the road.  The one camping looked like a '78 or '79 Ramada (?) in Garden of the Gods Campground, CO with a Michigan license plate.  Never did get a chance to introduce ourselves.

Apaches are just rare I guess. (Though my Dad just found a "brand new to him" '78 or '79 Ranger!)

We are pretty close, but due to the arrival of our newest little camper (hard to believe our new son is already two weeks old!), we will only be back yard camping this summer.  Looking forward to the fall...

I can certainly understand having a young child and it won't be long before you have him camping -- time flies when they are young!  We took a break while our kids were younger.  Now, our son is 7 and daughter is 10... prime ages for camping!   They really enjoyed every bit of the 4,040 miles we did last week.  Five national parks in six days  8O  - had to get the most out of our $50 Annual park pass.   Books on tape worked really well at this age.

I am leaving tomorrow afternoon for a camping trip and won't be on till late sat night or sunday afternoon.   Yesterday evening my dad drove to the campground we are planning on going to and said that there was a green apache in the site we are wanting to go to.  so there might be an apache in the campground.  I will let you know upon my return.
