I just bought this 30A power box, did I do a good thing?

I bought this power box...

It was in a 93 camper...something like Snap n Nap. They hadn't used it for a year and when they went to open the back and lower the bed...the whole back wall fell.

I bought the 30A power box with shore cord as well as the front propane lines and regulator. (the rubber lines on the 75 feel like dry rot)

Is this a good power box? They threw in the outlets too. I know to wire the 20A to the ac. That leaves me with 2 15A and a 15A GFI. How would you  suggest I wire the Ramada? I am not sure what needs the GFI and what will be ok without. I want to keep things as safe as I can. I will have a fridge, microwave, tv (13" picture tube until I can catch a flat panel 15" cheap), and a coffee urn for hot water etc. There are a pair of outside outlets as well.

There are a few more pics of the power box in the album:

That is a good general purpose power center, that houses all your AC and DC power needs. I have the same unit, and the only down side to this unit is their converter unit. Even though this unit is a converter/charger, it is good enough to power 12V lights and fans inside your camper but poor unit for charging your house battery. This is only an issue if you use your camper like seasonal camp, like having the power converter plugged in all summer long. May not be an issue if used as weeks at a time. It is upgradable in the future if the need arise. Here is interesting readings on those converters. More projects for you.. ;D

BTW, your converter section is at the bottom of the unit, just remove the front panel and should look like this. The original fan can get noisy at night. The entire converter section can be removed for repair/service/upgrade by taking that 4 screws out in the front.

I already upgraded my converter section with 45 Amps unit with a thermostatically controlled fan. Only when the converter is heating up, the fan kicked in like in some automobiles.

Finally getting to 30A conversion...Questions
« Reply #5 on: April 02, 2010, 02:19:24 PM »
I am finally going to use the 30 amp breaker box I bought last year. Is it ok if I just wire the existing outlets to one breaker...then run a separate line for the Air and maybe one for the microwave? Basically, is the existing wiring ok as long as I don't try to power Air?

Thanks

That is exactly what I did. All existing 3 outlets are on one 15A breaker, all additional outlets I put in got their own. Shore power plug to the power center did get new 10 ga. wiring.
