RED - good point.. partly why i broke mine down.. i know what pulls what amps and have my camper set for the appliances separate from everything. and i have thought of a main 30 breaker. i will see.. this setup works great so far.. been using it at the house for a month solid and no issues yet..
I'm sure your system is absolutely fine, I'm probably a little gun shy after loosing a friend from electricity problems on the job.

Redwood,
I see from your post you got your panel off Ebay. I like the outlet on the back could you see if you have a model # or brand name. I would like to search to see if I could find one like it on the Internet.
Rick
Rick I'll be going out to the garage in a few minutes to work on my Mesa. I'll get the information for you and post in a little while.  ;)

Rick this box is very much the same box I bought and the same brand. One half is for your standard 30 amp breaker box and the other half is a set up for if you decide to run a 12 v system too. I'm not using that right now but if I ever decide to upgrade to a new converter then this would be perfect. It's on ebay for $25.00 it also has the outlet on the back too. The company is WFCO and they probably have others on their web site. This box is made for RVs  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WFCO-Ultra-RV-Distribution-Panel-WF-8914-30amp-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem35b0ac0467QQitemZ230597330023QQptZMotorsQ5fRVQ5fTrailerQ5fCamperQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Rick,
You could go to Home depot and buy a small 30 amp breaker box without the outlet on the back. But you could hard wire the converter right into the box. It's very easy to wire these boxes as long as you follow that diagram I posted. All you really need is a box that will hold 3 or 4 breakers.  You will need to change to a 30 amp power cord to plug in to the campground power pole. My cord plugs into a outlet on the outside of my trailer, then i can just roll it up when i'm ready to leave and store it under the bench seat. I posted a picture of that outlet.

Thanks Redwood, that will work great because I can switch the old converter to it if it ever fails. It's hard to tell does it come with a main 30 amp breaker? When buying the separate breakers, are they standard or do you need to buy them special?

They are breakers you can get at home Depot. The box paperwork will tell you the best brand to use. Definitely keep and use the diagram for wiring. If you have any questions just ask.
