Please help me identify my Scout :-)
« on: April 23, 2019, 09:08:13 AM »
Hi!

I'm the new owner of a Scout and I need help identifying the age so I can get her titled. I have been scouring the forum to try and identify the age myself, but I am having a bit of an issue. The only numbers I'm seeing on the body are D 1695. Would this be a 1965 because it ends in a 5 or is it earlier because it starts with a D instead of a S? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks :-)

What condition is your Scout in? Red
Apaches are environmentally friendly & leaders of the pack.

It's in really good condition. The front entry screen needs to be replaced, but the fabric for the door itself is just dirty (no rot). It needs a few patches, but nothing unexpected. It's really in very nice shape.

It's the scout without the doors on the side. The only entry into the box is through the top where the mattress pad goes, if that helps pin point a year.

the year code would read  Dxxxxxx.5 the .5 is the year code. The "D" is the model code. I haven't  seen the "D" code before.

Like "flat twin" I suspect it is a Higgins version of an Apache. Which would explain the "D" Guess at the year and tell them that is it. Who would even question it? Its an antique.
