Dont know why I never thought of this!!! Planly it was way to simple and slipped my over anilyzing mind. On the bed end wall living hinge. Take the living hinge leed edge and cross stitch down the center and run it in about two to three inches back and forth about 4 times. Then run a stitch down each side of that about 4 times, right up next to the cording. It stiffins the hinge and allows it to be pulled with curved needle nose pliars without ripping. Also clean out the aluminum living hinge track where the set screw goes thru. Duh, basicaly fed it half way by hand!

Sooo! The original living hinges are made of canvas :?:
the ones that are in my camper are vinyl tubing with wire in them :?

So if I was to get some heavy duty canvas and use nylon cord I could make my own living seals (of course I would make them to the original specs and water proof them)

I do have access to a sewing machine that could handle the canvas & the cord.
Is this a good idea or should I not be such a cheap skate and just buy new living seals :?:

Rickster, These are not living seals it's a hinge. You may be able to make them yourself I don't think it would be that hard, but you might ask if someone could send you a 6 inch piece of living hinge to copy. Maybe someone has a little left over.

Rickster,
I have a 30" piece of living hinge I could send you.  I would recommend that you just buy it, but I know you're in a hurry so you can camp with us Oct. 5-7 at Milo McIver.  :)  You can PM your address to me and I'll send it off tomorrow.
