outside door handle 69 Eagle
« on: December 15, 2011, 06:58:11 AM »
Hi All,

In my search for a replacement door handle for my Eagle, I found a Garage door "l" hamdle on ebay that had the same shaft (5/16") as the rv handles advertised but for a fraction of the cost. I took a chance to see if it would fit and to my surprise it fit  as if it was made for it, even the mounting holes where an exact fit. Not being the expert, but perhaps this handle would fit other canvas modles and years also. I now have a door with a new handle that locks.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180774391804&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123

Harold, not sure if you're still on the forum or not, but I was doing some research on replacing the door handle on my 66 Eagle and saw your post. So this Hillman handle is the one, eh? I looked it up and it appears to be similar. My old handle had the screws come from the inside, though; the heads were not exposed from the exterior. How did you attach the handle, something like locking nuts on the inside? Any suggestions or hints are appreciated. Thanks, Kevin.
