Newer Window Mod

First a question to the AC guru's.  Am I right in assuming that you have to keep a window unit somewhat level to keep the hi/lo system in the AC working?

Now on to the mod......

I struggled with the set up on this configuration for the 10K BTU unit.  There was just too much hassle.  I would have to stab the unit through the Lexan opening, then install some molding.  Just took too much time.

To remedy this I permanently mounted the Lexan to a bracket on the unit.

Installation now is just setting the outside bracket, removing one of the windows and just slide it into place.

I am very happy with the way it seals to the extrusion on the window frame.  Now just to caulk everything up to give it a good weather proof seal.  Then take it out and see how it works.  I'm guessing my trip to Canyon Lake in June will be a good try out.  No shade in my site!!  You can say what you want about the small pre 74 windows, but I am loving them right now.
